I really enjoyed my overall experience as an undergraduate psychology student at CSULB. The pros are greatly that psychology students have their own well-designed program and building, incentivizing psychology students to make use of their uniquely cultivated environment and resources. Overall the professors are good, with the occasional one or two you just needed to bear. For the most part, I had a fantastic time. Loved the bar on campus, food was great, aside from the fact that the campus is MASSIVE and ye be dying a bit from class to class it's a great school. I applied to CSULB for graduate school and was ultimately rejected, which was beyond frustrating considering I graduated Magna Cum Laude and did very well there. But I get it, there are never any guarantees. And still, I got into an impeccable graduate program at Fordham in NYC because of the undergraduate education I did acquire. I walked the lawn of CSULB, so I could run through castle-like halls at Fordham!

I loved my experience at CSULB. I did get wait listed from the dorms during my freshman year, so I would like to see some more housing options for freshmen who aren't local to the area. However, the school did add another dorm building this last year, so that is nice to see that they are addressing the issue. I joined Greek life for 2 years and met some life long friends who are kind and down-to-earth. I have great relationships with a few of my psychology professors and I loved my experience working on campus as a research assistant and a teaching assistant. I think that the psychology program was pretty enriching and I feel that CSULB prepared me to tackle graduate school. Another thing that I would change would be the parking situation. If it were possible, I would love to see another parking structure to be constructed possibly near the library. Overall, CSULB is a great school for a phenomenal cost!

I am currently finishing my first year at California State University Long Beach and so far it has been an amazing experience! I thought college was going to be hard, it has been challenging at times, especially as a commuter, but overall it has been easy. I have passed all my classes so far, had nice professors, maintained a good GPA, and met new friends! My only complaint is the food and seating areas on campus. I wish there were more food options in the convenience stores and the restaurants. It would be nice to have different restaurants on campus for people who don’t drive. Also, I think there should be more seating areas. I have been able to look past those issues and I have had a surprisingly positive experience at CSULB!
