Group14 Technologies has developed an innovative silicon carbon material that will significantly enhance #electricvehicle (#EV) batteries. This breakthrough technology allows for up to 50% more energy storage capacity and enables batteries to charge in just 10 minutes. By replacing graphite with silicon, the batteries become more durable and charge at a much faster rate.The success of Group14's product has attracted high-profile customers such as #Porsche, who plan to integrate the material into their #EVs later this year. Group14's commitment to research and manufacturing is centered in Woodinville, but they are expanding their operations with a $223 million investment in two new plants located in Moses Lake. This expansion has been made possible through a $100 million grant from the Department of Energy.The company's ambitious goal is to grow its workforce from 250 to 500 employees in order to operate the new plants and continue their groundbreaking research at their Woodinville hub.
