Last night, I played my Blackstar Carry On super short scale bass @ kind of country/mostly outdoor rock gig in Islamorada. The non-uke band loved both the look and the sound of that fun little bass. Looks like it will be a full time gigging instrument for me. With the reduced scale, I don't need to look where my fingers need to stretch or jump to. And, I have a new sense of freedom for roaming around to hear the mix. Thus, my question: Are there any recommendations on wireless systems for uke type instruments? I am heading for a Lekato 5.8 hz system. I was pleased to see KohanMike's Lekato endorsem*nt elsewhere. What thoughts might you have based upon cord free amped experience?

5.8 appears to be the preferred frequency as that range isn't as crowded. The inexpensive units seem very similar. Should get one that has multiple frequencies in case there's interference. No longer have to be near my amp or to tape down the cables. Great to walk around venues and do your own sound checks.

Yep, I highly recommend the Lekato 5.8Ghz pods, been using them for years. They actually have three frequencies so three people can use them together without interference.

Thank You Mike and AP. I had a conversation w/ a studio/pro guitar picker who is noted for cruising thru the audience w/ his wireless rig as part of the show while the drummer and I hold the groove/harmonic structure on stage. His recommendation based upon 1,000 plus shows was the Shure GXL rigs w/ a football field range. However, I'm like Mike, here. Sometimes, good stuff is also priced affordably. I will let you know how the Lekato might lead this bassman off stage, too.

You’re welcome. I’d opt for a more expensive rig like the Shure if I was a pro, however the affordable system works well for me (Taylor NS62CE guitar & Peavey Dyna-Bass).
Had a gig last week where there were 3 wireless mics; no interference.
Had an issue once when the guitar player had a wireless system that interfered with mine, even when I tried the 3 other frequencies. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Been using the Boss WL-20 for about 4 years now with a uke group, works great!

Thanking everyone for your advice. I ordered the Lekato system w/ lithium charging station for less than 70 clams. If I get 50 ft. range, fine w/ me. The pro player w/ the Shure said he walked a football field distance behind the Founders Park outdoor arena stage and knee deep into the bayside water. He could still hear himself but the sonic lag made guitar playing challenging. Not a factor that I had considered, the speed of sound.

What is the lithium charging station for? My Lekato pods have USB micro charging ports that I plug into a wall charging adapter or my computer.

This Lekato system has a lithium charge/storage pack that the two 1/4" plugs insert into to keep a max charge and will charge beyond the grid. Less than $20 bucks more but worth the extra in my world if it does as implied. The transmitter/receiver units are not hinged but those are a couple moving parts not needed by me. We will see or hear as the case may be.

Oh, you ordered a completely different Lekato than mine, OK.

Yes, Mike. The lithium storage/charge pack option grabbed my attention and wallet. Most companies that make good products make good products across the range of their goods.
